National Geographic’s 7 Billion
National Geographic is doing a yearlong series focused on population growth past and future. The first article, 7 Billion, covers the history of population growth and the major concepts of demography.
The title refers to the planet’s current population, which is expected to grow to 9 billion by 2050. The series will explore the implications of this growth. I highly recommend the article and I’m looking forward to the entire series. There is also a great YouTube video that summarizes the key points.

- Gen Y entering middle age.
- The growing role of women in business and society.
- Global urbanization.
- Growing multiculturalism of the U.S.
