New Mexico State University’s College Assistance Migrant Program students shared with the campus their experiences in research, study abroad and co-ops in the third annual CAMP Poster Expo held Thursday, April 21 in Milton Hall on the NMSU campus.
Fourteen students from CAMP’s program put together posters featuring the research, travel and projects they are taking part in at the university. The campus and local community were invited to the expo where CAMP students presented their posters and answered questions.
“This expo gives the CAMP students a chance to share their experiences with other people,” CAMP retention advisor Jose Montoya said. “A lot of them don’t get the opportunity to present their work, especially in a professional environment; we open that avenue to them.”
The three-hour expo hosted students, faculty and members of the community browsing the student’s displays and discussing each individual’s work.

Due to time constraints, limited bandwidth, other projects needing immediate attention and the lack of an unlimited budget, I haven’t been able to completely revamp our program. Instead, I have been taking baby steps and applying small nuggets of what I learned to improve our email marketing.
